I remember when I used to go pick up Kirk's paycheck, you could never just pick it up, he would always invite you in. He'd ask about our kids and how our families were doing, next thing you know it's an hour later and you would have a great visit! Russ and Shirley always made us feel like one of the family and we are gonna miss you Russ!

I was saddened to hear of the news of Russ's passing. He was a pioneer in the cattle feeding business in Saskatchewan. I remember when I first got into the feeding business that Russ was one of the most respected cattle feeders of the day. I also had the privilege of serving with Russ on the Sask Cattle Feeders Association and I will remember those days fondly. I always looked forward to our visits, although all too sporadically. He always had a smile to share and loved a good laugh. he is proof that hard work, determination, and love for his family is a legacy we all should strive towards. my sincere condolences to Shirley and all his family. We have lost an icon.
